WHO WE ARE
We are a Southern Baptist Church.
We cooperate with and support the work of the Southern Baptist
Convention, the Kentucky Baptist Convention, and the Long Run Baptist
Association. We actively support and participate in the Southern Baptist
Conference of the Deaf and the Kentucky Baptist Conference of the Deaf.
We are one of over 62,000 Southern
Baptist Churches. We are one of over 600 SBC deaf ministries, missions,
and churches. We are one of 40 KBC
deaf ministries in Kentucky. We give over 10 percent of our annual
budget to the Cooperative Program of the SBC and to missions.
We began as a ministry of Lyndon Baptist
Church in 1971. We became a Mission in 1987. In 1992 we constituted and
became incorporated as a church. From 1992 to 1997 we rented facilities
from Bethlehem Baptist Church. In July 1997 we moved and now rent
facilities from Deer Park Baptist Church. We are a separate, autonomous,
independent, self-supported church. Our dream is to grow and buy or
build a church building of our own someday. We are a church with a
vision. Proverbs 29:18 says, "where there is no vision, the people
perish."
We invite all deaf persons, hearing
persons and their families to come feel the warmth of our fellowship and
the nearness of God as they worship and study the Word of God with us.
If you live in our community and do not have a church home, we pray that
God may lead you to unite with us, grow with us, and help us fulfill our
Lord's Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
1. The Bible is God's Word. It is
correct. It is the only rule for our faith and everyday life. It
does not fail,
2. God is the one true God. He has always
lived in three equal persons: the Father, Jesus His Son, and the Holy
Spirit.
3. God loves all people. He wants all
people to be right with Him, but our sins block the way.
4. All people have sinned. If our sins
are not forgiven, God will judge us. Punishment in Hell will never stop.
5. Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay
for our sins. His blood has power to take away alt our sin and guilt.
Nothing else works,
6. The only way people can go to Heaven
and live with God is to have a personal faith in Jesus Christ. Anyone
who trusts in Jesus as Savior is "born-again" into God's family
forever.
7. God's Holy Spirit guides and gives
power to His children, called Christians or believers. He holds us safe
forever. Nothing can make us lose our salvation.
8. Jesus Christ will come again. All
people who love and serve Him will live with Him in Heaven forever.
